On April 26th the City of Kitchener set up fences around Roos Island, denied access to community supports, and announced that they would be evicting all tents set up in the downtown core. Several housing advocacy groups and agencies showed up on April 27th to call out these harmful decisions. Following this action Waterloo Region Police Services charged three housing advocates who are now facing jailtime.

Option 3: Attend The Unhoused Experience: 24hr Challenge on May 26 and 27 Across these two days there will be workshops, community meals, and public talks about homelessness and how you can help. Come and learn more about why people have chosen to set up tents in Willow River Park and how you help stop the human rights violations agaisnt them.
